Conservation of the
Arms Forest & Rock Point
In 2017, the Parks Foundation of Burlington formed a partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Burlington, Lake Champlain Land Trust, and Burlington Department of Parks, Recreation, and Waterfront to conserve the land bisected by the Bike Path — including the shoreline of Rock Point to the west and the Arms Forest to the east. The partnership expanded to include the Fellowship of the Wheel, North Avenue Alliance Church, Burlington Conservation Board, and Killarney Drive Neighborhood Association and is named the Rock Point and Arms Forest Coalition.
The Coalition’s mission is to protect the lands bordering Burlington’s Greenway and Lake Champlain. The 180 acres designated include scenic vistas, old growth forests, unique geology, and wildlife habitat.
